Abu Dhabi<\/a> have scored the third and fourth place in the race conducted inthe capital of Philippine \u201cManila\u201d where the goal of this race is about protecting the environment. Abdul Aziz Al Muhairiwho is a student in the higher technical college in Ruwais said: \u201cwe are very proud of this achievement which raises the name of the United Arab Emirates very highand we are honored to have the support of our country in all stages of the race. Al Muhairi pointed out that the achievement of third and fourth places in the race between about 100 racer is an incredible achievement especially as it was their first participation in this race and itwill not be the last of course because they are working very hard all the time to discover the latest technology techniques in order to implement them in these kinds of challenges.<\/p>\nAhmed Harbi who is a student in the colleges of higher technology in Abu Dhabi said: \u201cAchieving these two places in Manila race was a dream come true for us where the competition was very strong and tough between all the contestants and this achievement reflects the UAE’s commitment to protect the environment and the future of the energy sector in our country\u201d. He added: \u201cwe are looking forward to celebrate by this occasion when we return to our country which we raised its name very high by achieving these places and we have made some good friendships here in Manila during our stay there especially with competitors from Korea, India and Singapore\u201d. This great race which is about the environment was conducted for the first time in the streets of Manila after it was held annually in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. At this event, all the contestants introduced the latest techniques in technology for saving the fuel consumption.<\/p>\n
Andrew von who is the Chairman of Shell Abu Dhabi commented on this event where he said: \u201cThe UAE\u2019s teams showed high capacities and a serious commitment, and these students are the backbone of the future. From our side, we are looking forward to see a greater participation by the UAE\u2019s students in any upcoming global initiatives soon\u201d. There were eight teams from the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Lebanon and Egypt where all these teams participated in the \u201cManila race\u201d along with more than 100 teams from the Middle East and Asia.<\/p>\n
