The renewal of your car registration in Dubai should be done once every year. If you have bought a new car, the dealer will handle all formalities for the first year, but from the second year onwards, you will have to renew your car registration by yourself.<\/p>\n

Starting from August 2010, regardless of the origin of documents or the vehicle, you can renew your car registration or driving license from any other emirate,<\/p>\n

You can also renew your car registration from selected insurance companies that are considered trusted agents. The insurance companies would be using the same procedure and online facilities to provide the service that are being used by the RTA\u2019s customer service centres and other approved agents like Tasjeel, Tamam etc. They would provide additional services of renewal of vehicle registration apart from their normal insurance services. These companies are: Noor Takaful, Oman Insurance, AXA Insurance, Fujairah Insurance and RSA Insurance.<\/p>\n

Documents required for this process<\/b><\/p>\n

1. Old registration card
\n2. Motor vehicle insurance certificate
\n3. \u201cPassed\u201d car test certificate<\/p>\n

Proceeding:<\/b><\/p>\n

1. Settle the payment of fines (if any); you can check and pay any fine at the Dubai Police website.<\/p>\n

2. Go to Dubai <\/a>Traffic Department\/other emirates traffic department or to (Tasjeel Eppco, Emarat Shamil or Belhasa’s Wasel to have the car tested<\/p>\n

3. Pay the fees.<\/p>\n

4. Wait for your registration card (valid for one year). In case your car is no longer financed by a bank, show the bank clearance certificate.<\/p>\n

5. Take a sticker with the new registration expiry date and place it over the old one (on the rear number plate)<\/p>\n

\u2022 Some companies will do all procedures for an additional fee, including collecting and returning the vehicle to you. You can also check with your insurance company, since many have introduced a free\/paid service.
