According to a spokesperson for A-MAP, one of the country\u2019s leading vehicle accessories providers, the reviving economy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is reinforcing and enhancing the sales of fleet cars in the country, with the aim to provide a host of business opportunities for automotive service organizations and spare parts distributors.<\/p>\n

On the final day of the 11th edition of Automechanika Dubai, Asad Badami, Managing Director of A-MAP, pointed out: \u00a0\u201cDubai\u2019s economy has turned the corner, with the real estate sector growing considerably over the past year, oil prices remaining high and tourism continuing to bring in large sums of money.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Badami declared that the booming market in fleet car sales will supply rich ground for firms in the vehicle spare parts and automotive services industries, because vehicles\u2019 day-to-day road use tends to exact a greater toll on components.<\/p>\n

\u201cConfidence is running high and the sales of fleet vehicles are reflecting this. Al-Futtaim is a typical indication; its Toyota division has recently sold 1,100 vehicles to the Dubai Taxi Corporation and its Honda unit is aiming to increase 2013 fleet sales by 50 per cent,\u201d Badami said.<\/p>\n

\u201cFleet motors inevitably undergo much more wear and tear than individually owned vehicles. They put in more miles and are often driven more harshly by drivers who wouldn\u2019t dream of treating their own personal cars the same way, so parts need replacing more frequently.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTaxi cabs are a case in point; each cab in Dubai travels an average of 500km a day, which is considerably more than the average privately owned sedan,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

It is worth mentioning that Dubai-headquartered A-MAP send out car components that include tires, shock absorbers, batteries and brake pads from leading brand names.<\/p>\n

\u201cAutomechanika 2012 saw us picking up several new corporate and retail customers from across the region,\u201d said Badami.<\/p>\n
