Motorists in Abu Dhabi can now get to Sheikh Zayed Road coming from Al Maqta Bridge towards the city.
\nIn framework of the latest projects implemented on the Emirate of Abu Dhabi ground, More signals have been installed and an asphalt layer added to provide for more vehicles as supplementary lanes have been affixed to Sheikh Zayed Road.
\nThe work has been carried out as it gets close to Abu Dhabi after crossing Sheikh Zayed Bridge and is part of the Department of Transport\u2019s (DoT) first step of traffic improvements and of a city-wide road widening project in the area.<\/p>\n
Lanes have been spread out and widened from three to four and two to three at some points and will ensure a smoother traffic flow, particularly at the rush hours.<\/p>\n
The road is now fully operational and in the working order and the Department finished implementing the project in about five days.<\/p>\n
The project of widening Sheikh Zayed Road to boost and promote traffic movements and increase capacity has three phases. The second and third phases are due to begin in a little while and will include widening the road close to the ministries complex near Al Maqta Bridge and at the entrance of the bridge from both sides.<\/p>\n
