Number plate enthusiasts in Dubai will have yet another opportunity to get their hands on special number plates as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is all set to hold its 101st<\/sup> Open Auction<\/strong>. According to the announcement by RTA, 90 distinctive number plates will be offered at the upcoming Open Auction, which will be held on April 6, 2019<\/strong>. The registration for the auction has started from March 31, 2019 and RTA has outlined the registration procedure for potential bidders.<\/p>\n

Details of the 101st<\/sup> Open Auction by RTA<\/h2>\n

RTA is a modern-day transport and licensing authority in Dubai that continues to take initiatives for the well-being and satisfaction of its customers. The number plate auctions are amongst the most highly anticipated events as Dubieties look forward to these events to purchase their favorite number plates. RTA holds both open and online auctions on a regular basis to satisfy the ever-growing demand for special number plates in Dubai. The 55th Online Auction<\/a>\u00a0was organized by RTA on February 24, 2019 where 300 special number plates were available for auction.<\/p>\n

The forthcoming 101st<\/sup> Open Auction by RTA will be another such event that will provide number plate enthusiasts with the opportunity to bid for 90 distinguished number plates.\u00a0A wide range of special number plates will be offered at the auction and RTA has announced that the W 12<\/strong> distinctive plate<\/strong> will also be up for grabs. The 101st<\/sup> Open Auction will begin at 04:30 PM on Saturday, April 6, 2019<\/strong> at the Hilton Hotel, Al Habtoor City, Dubai.<\/p>\n

The Lineup of Number Plates to be offered at the 101st<\/sup> Open Auction<\/h3>\n

RTA will be offering two, three, four and five digits<\/strong> distinguished number plates<\/strong> at its upcoming 101st<\/sup> Open Auction. As many as 90 number plates will be up for grabs, which will bear I-J-K-L-M-N-P-Q-R-S-T-Y-W and Z codes. <\/em>RTA has provided the guidelines for registration procedure and has also announced that the selling of the special number plates will be subject to 5% Value Added Tax (VAT). The Value Added Tax was first implemented in the UAE on January 1, 2018 and since then it has been applicable to all commercial and business activities.<\/p>\n

How to Participate in RTA\u2019s 101st<\/sup> Open Auction?<\/h2>\n

The 101st<\/sup> Open Auction by RTA is expected to be a well-contested event as only 90 distinguished number plates will be up for grabs. Interested number plate enthusiasts need to follow a step-by-step procedure to register for the upcoming number plate auction<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Given below are the guidelines that interested bidders can follow to participate in RTA\u2019s 101st<\/sup> Open Auction:<\/p>\n

  • An interested bidder must have a Dubai registered vehicle or a Dubai based driving license.<\/li>\n
  • A non-refundable subscription fee of AED 120 <\/strong>and a security cheque of AED 25,000<\/strong> (addressed to RTA) must be submitted. The payments can be made <\/em>at RTA\u2019s Customers Happiness Centers in Umm Al Ramool, Al Barsha or Deira<\/strong>. Interested bidders can also make payments through Dubai Drive app or use their credit cards<\/em>.<\/li>\n
  • RTA has also established a dedicated team at RTA Call Center (8009090) to address the public inquiries about the auction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
