Main Motive behind increasing the Number of Speed Radars in Abu Dhabi<\/h2>\n

With Abu Dhabi Al Sila Road<\/strong> dubbed as one of the most dangerous roads in the Emirates<\/strong>, the traffic authorities are set to make the roads a lot safer by installing more new speed radars<\/strong>. These will act as a deterrent for all motorists from speeding and, hopefully reduce fatal accidents on the highways.<\/p>\n

Location of Radars and other Specifications<\/h2>\n

According to the Abu Dhabi Traffic Police, the frequency of these radars will particularly be concentrated on the Western Region of Al Sila highway as well as Abu Dhabi Al Ain Road.<\/em> Other than the installation of new mobile and fixed radars, there will be regular circulation of traffic patrols<\/a> in the area to monitor motorist\u2019s behavior.<\/p>\n

Contrary to previous rumours, the speed limits will remain the same.<\/em> According to the Deputy Director of the Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police, the Al Dhafra bridge diversion to Baynunah Forest<\/em> will be the first stretch with new radars, with a speed limit of 100 Km\/h<\/strong>. The second stretch will be from Baynunah Forest to Barakah region<\/em>, with the speed limit of 120 Km\/h.<\/strong> The third and the last stretch will extend further from Barakah to Al Ghuwaifat<\/em> with a reduced speed limit of 100 Km\/h.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Other than these speed limits, the Police authorities have given the motorists grace speed limits<\/strong> on the three stretches set for the radars. The grace speed limit on the Al Dhafra bridge diversion to Baynunah Forest<\/em> is till 121 Km\/h<\/strong>. Further from Baynunah Forest to Barakah region<\/em> the grace speed limit is 141 Km\/h<\/strong> and for the Barakah to Al Ghuwaifat<\/em> the limit can be extended to 121 Km\/h.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For heavy trucks<\/strong> the speed limit will remain the same at 80 Km\/h<\/strong> and for passenger buses<\/strong> the limit will be set at 100 Km\/h<\/strong>, throughout all the stretches.<\/p>\n

Motorists can check Location of the Radars Online<\/h2>\n

The location of these new fixed and mobile Speed Radars will not be a surprise for all the motorists. Abu Dhabi Police will publish the location of these radars on their website as well as on their social media platforms <\/em>so that they can check it themselves. These will be regularly updated from the \u201cadpolicehq\u201d account<\/strong>. This will give motorists a leeway as to be careful with their speed on those spots, in order to avoid any unnecessary speeding ticket.<\/p>\n
