The selection of car’s tires is a combination of science and art. In the beginning, you have to know the correct size for your car’s tires and the way you drive your car and the circumstances you drive in plus many other information.

1) Seasonal tires:

  • All-year tires: they are specifically designed to adapt with the “everyday” driving conditions throughout the year and they provide balanced levels of performance on the dry and wet roads in addition to acceptable performance levels in the snow areas. They are a practical solution designed to travel throughout the year with the longest lifespan.
  • Winter /snow tires: these tires are specifically designed to provide the highest levels of performance when driving on ice, snow and wet roads which are not intended for use throughout the year. You can easily identify these tires where they are carrying the mountain signal with a snow crystal in the middle which indicates that it is suitable for use in the winter conditions.
  • Summer tires: these tires intended for vehicles with high performance and provide the highest levels of performance in dry and wet conditions at elevated temperatures which is designed for use throughout the year but they should not be used in the winter because these tires do not give the best performance in such circumstances.
  • All-terrains tires: these tires are designed to work on the hard road to give you the best performance when driving on mud, sand and rocks. You can use them on the normal roads but they issue annoying sounds more than the regular tires.

2) Performance tires:

The high performance cars need tires that can bear with this performance where the main function of these tires is bearing with high speeds and stability on the road but its problem is the short life.

3) Blending between old and new tires:

When you buy new two tires instead of four tires, make sure that these new tires have the same size and type of the existing tires and ask the seller to install the new tires in the rear part for two reasons:

  • The new tires provide the best stability and control ever which are better than the old tires.
  • The new tires help to reduce the probability of sliding the rear of your car and loss its stability on wet roads because they are still new and their stability and cohesion are higher than the old tires.
