Guiding a vendor for suitable place for advertisement and the documents required for re-registering a car  in KSA.

For overseas nationals who are going from KSA, so it is must for them that if they own any vehicle which is registered by their name should be put up for sale, or it an arrangement should be made for exporting the vehicle, and should cleared every charges regarding to that vehicle if it possess  any loan , just before the issuance of an exit visa.  In order to complete all the process of transference of ownership of Vehicle, it should be sold out as before the departure date. After selling a car , one would use taxis  for their convince or may  rent a car for the final days residing in KSA.

People who are living in KSA and have their residency probably have much  time for selling a car to an appropriate  buyer and  for registering a car again.

 Prefer to sell your car to a private purchaser , as it will provide some good  price. One of the most suitable way to sell a car is to ask  from your friends, neighbors or any relative, might be possible that they know someone who is  in search of a car  to purchase, or another way  sell a car is to  publicize it on notice boards. on the other hand it should be  advertised on newspaper  or  websites where buying and selling of car goes on.

 As we know that  in Saudi Arabia there are no guidelines which guides  about selling prices of used cars, expect purchaser to bargain. It may be significance, to allow negotiation, setting the value of the car to some extent high. Expats are recommended to be negotiable, but may try to  stand their ground and don’t agree for  selling  the car for less than its value, particularly  if there is no urgency for selling the car.

Registering a Used Car

To re-register a car when selling privately, the seller will need to provide the below documents:

  • A Copy of the existing Istemara
  • Evidence for showing ownership of the car
  • A Copy of the car insurance document
  • Legal certificate of  motor vehicle periodic inspection (MVPI)
  • A Copy of the car  owner’s Residence Permit ( Iqama).
  • Evidence that no loan from bank or other institution is borrowed  to buy the car.
